I am the hostess for the carnal and the elegant, drawing from our human desire to be satisfied and pleased by not only flesh but food alike. I put both desires in the spotlight, turning our daily needs and wants into absurd and bizarre things of fetishized beauty. Working in a wide range of media including raw meat, teeth, and hair, a carnival of bodily fantasies from the beautiful to the repugnant is created. The severed figure merges with floral and decorative ornamentation and forms an environment of carnal décor. This is visceral and slips between the real and fantasy. I toy with the relationship between interior and exterior, especially in respect to the body, to explore what happens when our expectations of pristine forms are ruptured.
